Perth City and Surrounds

I can’t believe a year (well, almost) has gone already (361 days to be exact). I was only getting used to driving around and living like a local. I will definitely miss the very affordable West Australian wine (of course), the food trucks, the hip bar/cafe/mural culture, the historic streets and sites, the urban villages, the parks, the beaches, and the easy drive to the Australian bush. Perth is definitely a hipster country. Enjoyed calling it home even for just a short time.

Queensland/New South Wales Road Trip

Drove from Brisbane to Angourie and back with pit stops in Gold Coast, Surfer’s Paradise, Byron Bay, and Yamba (at least 800km). The plan was to drive from Brisbane to Sydney but had to drive back to Brisbane from Angourie because of the horrible thunderstorm forecast for the whole week.

We learned from this trip that we are failures at the camper van life. We weren’t the “hippie freaks” we thought we were and love comfort more than anything else haha! It was super awesome to see the old sleepy surfing towns where the first surf clubs were established. I find Yamba pretty amazing (and Byron Bay pretty overrated).
